Katie and Murray SHAW MARACLE

SHAW/MARACLE WEDDING Bob and Janet Shaw are absolutely thrilled to announce the recent wedding of their daughter, Katie Lynn Shaw to Murray Maracle, son of Murray Maracle Sr. and Sharon Maracle of Tyendenaga Mohawk Territory, on August 28th, 2010. The wedding took place in the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake at St. Mark's Anglican Church. Reverend Canon Dr. Robert S.G. Wright officiated. The setting was gorgeous with the renowned gardens and historic shops lining the streets alongside the scenic view of the Niagara River. The bride and her attendants arrived in a vintage horse and buggy adorned with purple ribbons and bows to match the wedding bouquets. Katie wore a stunning halter style cathedral length taffeta and English net gown embellished with crystals and beading. Her swarovski crystal earrings and crystal hairclip accented her dress perfectly! Katie's sisters, Kristin (Reid) and Kelsey Shaw were the Maids-of-Honour. They wore strapless dresses of purple chiffon and carried bouquets of purple freesia, roses and hydrangeas. Representing Murray's proud First Nations heritage, Murray made 'Dream Catchers' which decorated the pews in the church. Murray's good friend, Mike Hill and brother- in-law Corey Taylor were the Best Men. The groomsman was Aaron Maracle, brother of the groom. Highlighting the ceremony were the Flower Girls and Ring Bearer. Murray's nieces, Emikah Taylor and Serena Maracle were adorable in their ivory taffeta and lace dresses. They carried little bouquets and had crystals adorning their hairstyles. Ring Bearer, Rivor Taylor was such a handsome little gentleman and did such a great job. The reception was held at the Vintage Pillar and Post Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The aura of history and vintage charm captured the entire day from the antique style of Katie's dress through to the 'Old Library' where the dinner was held. Katie and Murray traveled to Prince Edward Island for their honeymoon. The happy couple now resides in Ottawa.9613351
