Grace Freeman

FREEMAN, Grace - June 8, 1920 - May 29, 2016 Grace was born in St. John, New Brunswick on June 8, 1920. She moved with her parents to Melfort, Saskatchewan in 1926 and then to a farm near Choiceland, SK in 1930 where the Torch Trail Bible Camp is now located. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior while she was a young girl, and later attended Caronport Bible College. She married Wilfred Freeman from Carlea on July 21, 1953 and there they farmed and raised their family. Grace worked for many years as a nurses aide in Calgary AB, Watson SK and Nipawin. Grace loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and remembered to pray for them every day. Some of Grace's hobbies were gardening, crocheting, reading, and spending time outside enjoying God's creation. She had many friends and was always eager to have a visit and a cup of tea. Grace was predeceased by her parents William and Elizabeth Etling, her husband Wilfred Freeman, and her siblings Bernice Roach and Glen Etling. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Beryl Whitrow (Ed), her son Melvin Freeman (Linda), 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Nipawin Alliance Church with Reverend Timothy Sheppard officiating. Grace was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
