Jin Hung Wally Seto

It has been a long journey from birth on Sept 17, 1927 near Hoi Ping, China to passing on July 4, 2016 to finally rest near his parents in Burnaby, BC. Married at 19 and a young father at 20, Wally was not only head of his family, but also became the patriarch of the extended family. Wally was an entrepreneur at an early age with several small businesses in China but it was only after coming to Canada that he settled into life as a restaurateur. The winters in Nipawin, SK were cold, but the friendships he formed there, especially with Drs. Walters and Christiansen, warmed him for a lifetime. It was there that he and Mrs. Helen Chow partnered in a restaurant. They continued that partnership in a restaurant in Vancouver and subsequently in sharing a home in retirement. Wally was a very sociable man and his hobbies of hunting, horse racing, Dim Suming and working with the Seto Society, were all excuses to spend time with friends and family. He took especial pride in seeing people well fed, be it by his hand or by his ordering skills. He is survived by his wife, Grace; his children Tom & Helen, Nick & Susana, Michael and Shirley; his grandchildren Angela, Allison, Adriana, Charmayne and Gordon. 0
