His career in the armed forces began in Manitoba and also took him to Ontario (Twice) and to Nova Scotia with postings early in his career in France and Germany. He served as PMC in Trenton in the 70s and one highlight of his career would have to be an amazing visit to Peking as part of the flight crew for then Prime Minister Pierre E Trudeau. He was an avid sportsman that excelled in baseball and bowling in the Quinte area and several years was coach to some of the young baseball players in the 70s and could be seen at various arenas cheering (Loudly) at all his grandsons’ hockey games, and granddaughter’s figure skating competitions.
