Lloyd Forester Malyk

MALYK, Lloyd Forester - June 15, 1927 - Airdrie, Alberta December 15, 2017 -Calgary, Alberta Lloyd beloved husband of Kathleen May Malyk (nee Benoit) of Airdrie, AB, passed away on December 15, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Lloyd was raised on a farm west of Airdrie, attended a one room country school named Abernathy, then Didsbury and Crossfield. After a couple of years in the Navy, he returned to the farm he purchased where he remained for the rest of his life. With this farm in close proximity to his parentsí home, he was able to farm with his dad and eventually his son. He was involved with the activities of the Parish, local community organizations, 4-H, REA, Home and School Association. He was also a wheat pool advisory and UFA advisory committee member. Besides his loving wife, Kay, whom he married on June 14 in 1952 and recently celebrated sixty-five years of marriage, Lloyd is survived by his seven wonderful children and their spouses; Jim and Frances of Guelph, ON, Gary and Debbie of Airdrie, AB, Elizabeth Havens and Raymond of Madden, AB, Michael and Donna of Airdrie, AB, Greg of Stoney Plain, AB, Mary Morris and Darrell of Leduc County, AB and Anita Forsyth and Kim of Lethbridge, AB. He is also survived by his twenty-five grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ernestine Malyk and Sr. Margaret Benoit; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ollie and Minnie Malyk and his parents in-law, Isadore and Nora Benoit as well as an infant daughter Joan; his siblings Tom, Jack and infant sister Mary; daughter-in-law Karen Malyk; as well as sister-in-law Ruth-Anne George and her husband Tom. Funeral Mass was held at St. Paulís Catholic Church (1305 Main Street) on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00P.M.
