James Gordon Brant

BRANT, James Gordon - Aged 64, passed away peacefully at his home in Elliot Lake, surrounded by his family on January 3, 2019. Born in Listowel and raised in the Mitchell and Kinkora areas. Jim and his beloved wife, Vicki Brant (Mills) raised their family on a small farm in the community of Rostock. Jim also worked for Pike?s Service Centre and Brant Auto Sales before opening his own business Friendly Farmer Meats in Mitchell. Survived by loving children Ben Brant (Meg) of Elliot Lake, Adam Brant of Rostock, and Katie Brant (Maxim Morrell) of Chatham. Cherished Grandfather of Gemma Rose and Henry James Brant. Dear brother of Bob Brant (Donna), Woodstock, John Brant (Linda), Dartmouth, N.S., Sharon Tully, Mitchell, Ron Brant (Tracey), St. Marys, Brian Brant (Gloria), Stratford, Debbie Mills (Tim), Dundalk, and Ed Brant (Wendy), Stratford. Remembered with deep affection by mother-in-law Joyce Mills, Dundalk, sisters-in-law Darlene (Kirk) Henry, Dundalk, Susan (Doug) Aitken, Dundalk, Peg Brant, Stratford and brothers-in-law Bob Thornton, Mitchell and Gary Doell. Favourite Uncle to 32 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Milton and Margaret Brant (Miller), sisters Brenda Verellen and Carol Thornton, brother Barry Brant, and father-in-law Morley Mills. Friends and relatives are invited to a gathering to celebrate Jim's life, at the Dundalk Legion Hall on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, "In Memory Donations" may be made to Jim's charity of choice the Shriners Hospital for Children-Canada, at or a charity of one's choice. Vicki and families, sad for the loss of Jim. He was a man who made everyone smile and laugh. He was so kind, and always said "Good Morning" everyday to people on the street in Mitchell. Always a happy man. He employed me at Friendly Farmer Meats, and was great to work for and with. He was always positive and thankful. My condolences to everyone

who would have thought that 2 good neighbours would have passed away so close to one another!!! our Harold B and your dear Jim....Jim always had a smile and a friendly greeting when we met him at the Baumbach farm....just a great person who always made us laugh! Our sympathy to you all...wrap yourselves in the wonderful memories!
