Evelyn McCartney

McCARTNEY, Evelyn - Peacefully with her loving family by her side, at the Grey Bruce Health Services, on Thursday evening, January 3rd, 2019. Evelyn Florence McCartney (nee Wilson), of Kilsyth, at the age of 83 years. Dearly loved wife and best friend of Raymond McCartney for 66 years. Loving mother of Sharon Nicholls (Brian) and Steven McCartney (Leslie Ingles), both of Kilsyth, Doug McCartney (Kerri), of Tara and mother-in-law of Roy Cahoon, of Kilsyth. Proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Lorraine Murray, of Meaford. Evelyn will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Florence Wilson; her daughter, Shirley Kerr-Cahoon; her son-in-law, Kenneth Kerr; her siblings, Len Wilson (Birdell), Eva Miller (Arthur), Emily Thompson (Roofus), Lillian Shouldice (Jason), Clifford Wilson (Lily), Myrtle Farrow (Wilbert), Viola Gingrich (Aden); her brother-in-law, Robert “RJ” Murray. Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME , 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Evelyn will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 10th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Austin Gedcke officiating. Spring interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation for the MRI, the Canadian Diabetes Association or Ronald McDonald House in London as an expression of sympathy.
