Angus James (Jim) October 14, 1939 Macdonald

MACDONALD, Angus James (Jim) October 14, 1939 - January 4, 2019 (Retired Canadian Armed Forces-Special Forces/Airborne, and Corrections Canada). Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on January 4th, 2019 at the age of 79 yrs. old we lost our beloved "Poppa". Jim is predeceased by his parents James Angus & Angela (Baker) MacDonald, and his siblings John, Kenny, Richard, Doreen and Anna. He is survived by his wife of 52 years , Maxine Marilyn MacDonald, his daughters, Keeley MacDonald (Paul), Stacey MacDonald (Mark), Lindsey MacDonald, his loving grandsons, Kaiden, Benny, Sammy, Mark's daughter Reagan and his sister Arlene. A resident of Amherstview for most of his life, Jim was born in Sidney, Nova Scotia where he resided until he joined the armed forces. He enjoyed careers of leadership in the Canadian Military, RMC and Corrections Canada. Jim was a decorated officer in the military however his greatest pride and joy was his grandsons and ensuring he attended all their sporting events; always with a big smile, jokes and hugs for all - he will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to have met him. We are grateful and appreciate the care and compassion provided by the staff of the Kingston General Hospital at the E.R, Davies 4 and Connell 10 and a very special thank you to Dad's nurses Sacha and Jennifer who really are one of a kind. A very big thank you to Veteran's Affairs Canada who have provided great care to Dad. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Legion 631 in Collins Bay; all are welcome. For those who wish, donations may be made in Jim's name to Lennox and Addington Seniors Outreach Services who provided great support to Dad over the past few months.13321088

So sorry to hear about JIm. I use to love seeing his friendly face up at the ball diamonds. You always knew when he was around.....cheering his girls on or the other kids that grew up in Amherstview. He was a great man. Be very proud of him :)
