CLEMENT, Ervin Lawrence - Au Glen Stor Dun Lodge, le 15 janvier 2019, est décédé M. Ervin Lawrence Clément, époux de feue Irène (née Léger). Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, Paul (Joy), Suzanne Bray (feu Michel), Rita Asselin (Yvon), Nicole Bazinet (Conrad), Maurice (Gisèle), Lucie Levesque (Michel) et Pierre (Renée), ses 23 petits-enfants, 30 arrière petits-enfants, et 1 arrière-arrière petit enfant. Précédé par ses parents, Edmond Clément et Adrienne (née Bourdeau), et 1 soeur, Irène Godard (Conrad) et 1 fils, Roger (Diane). M. Clément, récipiendaire de la Légion d’honneur de la France, était ancien combattant du jour J de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, débarquant sur la plage Juno à Bernières-sur-Mer en tant que membre du régiment des Fusiliers de Sherbrooke - le 27e régiment blindé - faisant partie de la grande flottille d'invasion. Comme il est typique de sa génération, il a sacrifié d'innombrables plaisirs personnels pour que nous ayons ce que nous avons aujourd'hui, il sera toujours un héros pour son pays, plus encore pour sa famille, et vivra dans le cœur de plusieurs, un grand mais humble homme. La famille recevra parents et amis au Salon funéraire M. JOHN SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME , 341 rue Pitt (en face de l’hôtel de ville) Cornwall, Ontario lundi le 21 janvier de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h ainsi que mardi 22 janvier de 9h30 à 10h30. Les funérailles auront lieu le mardi le 22 janvier à 11h à la Cocathédrale de la Nativité (220 chemin Montréal, Cornwall, ON). Des dons à l’Hospice Carefor Cornwall seraient appréciés. CLEMENT, Ervin Lawrence - Peacefully, at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the age of 94, with family by his side. Loving husband of the late Irene (Leger) Clement. Loving father of Paul (Joy), Suzanne Bray (late Michel), Rita Asselin (Yvon), Nicole Bazinet (Conrad), Maurice (Gisèle), Lucie Levesque (Michel) and Pierre (Renée). Cherished grandfather of 23, great-grandfather of 30 and great-great-grandfather of 1. Predeceased by his parents, Edmond and Adrienne (Bourdeau) Clement, his son Roger (Diane) and his sister Irene Godard (Conrad). Mr Clement, a recipient of France’s Medal of Honour, was a WWII D-Day Veteran, landing on Juno Beach at Bernières-sur-Mer as a member of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment – the 27th Armoured Regiment - that was part of the great invasion flotilla. As is typical of his generation, he sacrificed countless personal pleasures so that we have what we have today. He will always be a hero to his country, more so to his family, and will live on in the hearts of many as a great but humble man. Friends and family will be received at the M. JOHN SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME , 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall on Monday from 2 - 4pm and 7 - 9pm and on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral Mass Tuesday January 22, 2018 at 11 am at the Cocatheral Nativity Catholic Church followed by cremation. Committal at Nativity Cemetery at a later date. sorry for the loss of your dad and grandfather-monsieur clement-he told many stories of how he was in the war and received many medals and had clippings of old newspapers on his wall of his many memories when he was younger in the war-and pictures of his family who he loved and cherished-he was a proud man god blessxoxo
