Dorothy Helen Saunders

SAUNDERS, Dorothy Helen - Passed away peacefully with her daughter, Doreen by her side at the Ritz Lutheran Villa in Mitchell ON on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 in her 97th year. Dorothy "Dot" Saunders (nee Wagner) of Pembroke Ontario, wife of the late Lawrence Richard Saunders (1987). Dear mother of Sharon Earle (Allen), Severn; Doreen Saunders, Mitchell; and Todd Saunders (Maureen Toll); Ottawa. Predeceased by son, Garry Saunders. Grandmother of 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Friend of the late Leroy Saunders (2012) of Arnprior. Born May 24, 1921 daughter of the late Fred and Helen Wagner (nee Coulas). Sister to brothers, Gerald Wagner (late Ivy), Lively and Douglas Wagner (late Diana), North Bay. Predeceased by brothers, Harvey Wagner (late Ida) and Leonard Wagner (late Mae). Sister-in-law of the late Keith Saunders (late Thelma) and the late Lenora Briscoe (late Tom) and the late Ruth Saunders all of Pembroke. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. A woman of character, a mother and homemaker, in her leisure she enjoyed music, dancing and singing in the church choir. She loved cottaging and engaging with pets. And she loved to laugh with friends and family. Our family would like to thank the caring staff of the Ritz Lutheran Villa LTC Home in Mitchell and Supples Landing Retirement Residence in Pembroke for their comfort and wonderful support over the last several years. Respecting Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no visitation and cremation has already taken place. A private family graveside interment will take place at Zion Evangelical United Cemetery in Pembroke at a later date this year.13323965

My deepest sympathy to all family .. It was many years ago I had the honour of knowing Dot while she lived on Bruham Avenue... She left quite an impression on me... Although those years were brief they remain memorable... Such a lovely lady . Rest in peace Dorothy !
