Steven Mitchell

MITCHELL, Steven - It is with great sadness that the family announces the tragic loss of Steven Mitchell of Porcupine, Ontario on January 30, 2019. Loving husband and soul mate to Donna Mitchell for twenty-eight years and adored father and best friend to Joey Maslowski (Stephanie). Survived by his mother Fay and brother Dale (Guylaine), many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends. Steven was pre-deceased by his father John Mitchell (1990). Steve was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and spending any time he could enjoying the great outdoors at his and Joeys camp. Steve had a zest for life and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him got to experience his optimistic outlook on life, his jovial laugh and his love for a great game of poker. Before retirement Steve worked at the Dome Mine for over thirty years as a welder and committed union brother. Despite many hobbies his first priorities were Joey and Donna, who was the love of his life and who he referred to as his rock. We find peace in knowing he lived a life that was full of laughter and love and will continue to influence others through the legacy he has left behind. Donations to the Living Space care of the United Way will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday February 5th, 2019 at STINSON FUNERAL HOME , 100 Bruce Avenue, South Porcupine, (705)235-2900 www.stinsonfuneralhome.net13324373

I only knew Steve for a couple of years, playing on his Wednesday Night team, but Steve was one of those rare individuals that very quickly became a great friend. A friend that you felt you had known all your life.

I am so sorry for your loss
