David Stephen McGinley

MCGINLEY, David Stephen - It is with unimaginable grief that we announce our beloved son, brother and husband has passed away. On Monday March 4, 2019 David Stephen McGinley age 53 lost a valiant battle with an aggressive cancer. Dave served for 17 years as a constable with York Regional Police then left to become self-employed to persue his true passion, golf. David always has a fervour for sport, during his too short a life, he was a star quarterback in high school and hockey goalie for over 25 years. Golf however held his affection. He was a club champion and organizer of many tournaments and friendly matches. He will be missed by his many friends and competitors. Dave was a stoic person but very giving to those he loved and cared for. His untimely passing leaves behind his devastated wife Shyroz and stepchildren Aneesa and Adam. His loving parents Jim and Shirley, sister Carolyn and partner Trevor, brother Ken and his wife Rebecca and nieces Jamie and Jordyn. David was cremated by his request and a party in his memory will be held in the spring at his golf club.13329494

I knew Dave from Meadowbrook golf and had the pleasure of golfing with him. He was a fun person, great golfer and caring person. I was shocked and so sorry to hear about this and want to offer my condolences to his family and Shyroze.

Rest in Peace Dave

Passion for winning

My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to Dave's family. I've worked with Dave and played football with and against him. His demeanor never showed the passion he had for sport and life. We lost touch after he left work but I can't imagine his fire ever diminished. God's got a strong willed, strong armed QB now. Show them how it's done man. See you soon. You left way too early but definitely left your mark.
