William Leonard Renton

RENTON, William Leonard - Surrounded by his loving family at Norview Lodge, on Friday March 15th, 2019, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee DeCarolis) of 64 years. Loving father of Steven (Deborah) of Burlington, Bill Jr. (Sue), Larry (Tracy), and Anthony (Cynthia), all of Simcoe. Proud grandfather of Matthew (Kaleigh), Allison, Brittney (Steven), Billy, Joseph, Jeremy, Nicole (Eddie), Lucas, Victoria (Josh), Jacob, John, and Shentel. Great Grand Papa of Benjamin, Gregory, Jackson, and Mason. Predeceased by Cpl. Harold and Olive Renton. Brother of Joyce Ryckman of London. Brother-in-law of Sandy Carcone, Carrie Ceci of Toronto, and Rene DeCarolis of Walsh. Brother-in-law of predeceased Rita Gaglion (Lundy), Chester and Viola DeCarolis, John Carcone, Louie Ceci, Gabe DeCarolis, and Mary and Paul King. Beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and cherished friend of many on Norfolk St. S, Simcoe, where he lived for over 60 years. Bill was an honourary life member of the Knights of Columbus, a 50 year member of Branch 79 Legion, Simcoe, and a member of St. Mary’s Church for 65 years. Bill was in the automotive business for over 40 years, many of which were in sales. Bill was an avid hunter and a staple at various sporting events around the province following his sons and grandchildren in their many sports. But most importantly, he was a great family man. The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Medve at Norview Lodge, Simcoe, for their amazing compassion and care to “Hollywood”. They were truly so loving and committed to Bill’s care and well-being. Also, a special thank-you to Jane Coulson and Dr. Cowan, Geriatric Medicine, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Bill with his family at FERRIS FUNERAL HOME , 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe. Visitation is Tuesday March 19 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm (with prayers at 7 pm). Additional visitation Wednesday March 20, 1:30-230 pm, followed by the funeral at 3 pm at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHRUCH , 211 Union St. Simcoe, with father Al Dufraimont officiating. Private internment of ashes to follow at a later time. Those wishing to donate in memory of Bill are asked to consider the Parkinson Society of Canada or the Who Did It Club of Simcoe.13330981
