Victor George Laderoute

LADEROUTE, Victor George - March 23, 1926 - March 31, 2019 In loving memory of Victor Laderoute 93 years who passed away peacefully at the Espanola Nursing Home on Sunday March 31, 2019. Victor was a World War II Veteran who served with the Royal Canadian Navy on the HMS Warrior at the age of 18. He served the areas of Canada, England and the North Atlantic until 1947. Victor has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 39 and has been one of the few remaining World War II Veterans until his passing. Victor was an avid sports fan. He watched hockey and baseball cheering on his Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays. Victor Loved being with his family and surrounded by his grandchildren and was fortunate to share time with his great-grandchildren. Victor is the beloved son of the late Ephrem and Rose Laderoute (nee Pearson). Victor was predeceased by his loving wife Rita (nee Maville) in 2000. Cherished father of Vaughn (predeceased 2016) wife Marguerite of Espanola, Peter of Toronto and Lyle of Agnew Lake. Grand father of Lisa Podlatis (Peter predeceased 2013), David (Kelly), Chris (Amanda) all of Espanola. Great-grand father to Hailey, Whitney, Braden, Meegan, Ty and Launa. Survived by his siblings Eleanor Foster of Ottawa (Keith predeceased), Ivy Rantanen of Sudbury (Tom predeceased), Joe Laderoute (Doreen) of Sudbury, Fred Laderoute (Irene) both predeceased of Webbwood, Albert Laderoute (Edna) both predeceased of Lively. Victor will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the staff at assisted living where Victor lived for 3 years before moving to the Espanola Nursing Home in late October of 2018. Thank you to the staff at the Espanola Nursing Home for their continued care and compassion during his stay and until his passing. Funeral service will be held at the St. Lawrence Church, in Webbwood on Thursday April 4, 2019 at 2:00pm. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or charities of choice.
