Thomas Mick

MICK, Thomas - March 16, 1954 - March 31, 2019 "Gone Fishing" It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Father, Brother, Uncle and friend Tom. Tom was born the fourth child of Lorne Mick (deceased) and Beatrice Colbourne (deceased). Our Tom was a handsome man and no stranger to laughter and fun. Tom was also no stranger to challenges throughout his life, but he faced them all with a strength and stubbornness few others could. He would never back away from a situation where he could help a friend or stranger, his heart was kind, especially to those less fortunate. Tom had a great respect and love for nature. Free time would find him hunting, fishing and foraging the hills of Mattawa. We are grateful for his shared knowledge of the natural world. And his pickerel too! Tom will be held close in heart and memory by his sons Sam Mick and Dylan Allison (Pam); daughter Kassidy Pinkerton; and former wife and dear friend Shelly Pinkerton. Tom was privileged for 23 years to be protector and best friends to Larry Guilbeault (deceased) and David Wink. He leaves behind ten brothers and sisters, who will forever miss the first one to leave. George, Lorne and Bev, Ruth, Ken and Jane, Glenn and Wendy, Fran and Marc, Viv and Alicia, Wendy and Moe, Claudette and Howard, Jennifer and Ron. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, many dear friends and his princess and best four legged friend of all, "Mackie." Dog-speed Tom. A celebration of Tom's life will be held in Mattawa at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's name to "A Place to Call Home" Campaign in Mattawa would be greatly appreciated by the family.13333075

Very Sad to hear the loss of such a nice man. Had the honour to meet and spend time with Tom last summer and sample the best smoked fish I will ever taste, and comparing ice fishing stories. My condolences to you Franny and the rest of your beautiful family. Mike Vaillancourt

My condolences and shared sadness at Tom’s passing. My especial love and support to his son Sam , who will miss his fathers support, love and laughter. Tom was always there when we lived in north bay and then Nunavut and was always happy to see us , swap char with pickerel and make fresh coffee for a visit. Will miss his ready smile and laughter , and his far ranging knowledge of how to fix anything. It’s a sad time for all who knew Tom.
will be seeing you friend
