Stanley Fisher

FISHER, Stanley Edwin It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing on February 27, 2019 of our dear father, Stanley Edwin Fisher of Elliot Lake in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Barb, loving Father to Kim (Bill), Beth (Roy), Bud (Elena), Ginny (Jeff), John (Maureen), Jake (Julie) and predeceased by daughter in-law Annick. Special Poppa Piggy to 17 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Born in Ponty Pool, ON; he ventured north for a better life in 1967 with his young family in tow, to Elliot Lake where he worked for Denison Mines until its closure. After residing in Elliot Lake for over 27 years, he eventually retired to a cottage that he and our Mother built together on Constance Lake North of Iron Bridge. After a time their life led them down the road to a hobby farm where they enjoyed raising a small herd of beef cattle. Eventually they resided just outside of Blind River. He always had an adventurous heart and was never one to let the grass grow beneath his feet, the bush and outdoors were his playground. In recent years, he and our mother (along with other family members) bought a parcel of land (Fisher's Farm) just north of Iron Bridge. He enjoyed spending time by the fire, roaming around on the quad, fishing, canoeing and enjoying the company of his family. Here they planned to build a new home for themselves. There is nothing he loved more in this life then his family and of course his Timmies! Our Father was good natured and liked to tease people and poke fun ALOTů.LOL What it really meant is that he accepted and liked you, whether family, adopted family or friends, it warmed his heart to gather togetherů.he will TRULY be missed by all. At his request, there was no funeral Service. The family will hold a celebration of life on May 18 on the Fisher's Farm. If you are interested in attending our Father's Celebration of Life please call me, (Beth 705 849 6880) and I will fill you in on the details13334434

My husband and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Fisher will be remembered as a very warm, friendly person with a wonderfully infectious smile. He always made me feel very welcome and safe while visiting his daughter Ginny in the '80s when we went to high school together. God Bless.
well remembered

My goodness, I am so sad for all of you who have lost this very special person in your lives. Stan and Barb were very good friends when he and my husband Ted worked together at Denison Mines. God be with you all as you live each day with his memory and what he has left with you.
