Brian Bannatyne

BANNATYNE, Brian - In Loving Memory Passed away at the Timmins and District Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2019 after a brief but brave battle with cancer at the age of sixty-five. As a young man Brian or “Scotty” as a lot of people called him, joined the armed forces in Scotland and also worked on the oil rigs off the coast. In the seventies he applied for a job at the Dome Mine and came to Canada to become a miner. He worked at a number of mines in the camp and as he grew older he went into exploration and construction, which enabled him to travel across Canada and back. Scotty is survived by his sister Donna of England, his brother David of Scotland and his son Michael of Canada. Brian loved soccer and the Montreal Canadians, but also had a passion for taking pictures of the sunrise on Porcupine Lake, so it’s only appropriate that he be interned at the Whitney Cemetery on the shore of the lake. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at STINSON FUNERAL HOME , 100 Bruce Ave., South Porcupine (705)235-2900.13335984
