HUNTER, David - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Hunter suddenly on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 72 years. David Joseph Pierre was born in Pascalis, Abitibi, Quebec on October 15, 1946. Loving brother of Marie (Ron Dewar predeceased) and Suzanne (Marcel Miron). Son of David predeceased) and Gabrielle (predeceased). Husband of Linda Hunter (nee Fowler). Father of Kristin Michael Theriault) and Dore (Partner Michael Coutu). Grandfather of Gabriel Hunter, Soren and Owen Theriault and Alana Heggum. Uncle to Michael, Greg, Ron Jr, and Jennifer. David met Linda in the spring of 1969. They married October 15th of that year, on Davidís birthday. This October would have marked their 50th year together. From the moment they met they knew they were soulmates. David and his family moved throughout Quebec during his early childhood. They settled in Sudbury in 1954 on Riverside Drive. David attended Sudbury High School, worked in retail, outside sales and was currently a sales associate at Dunrite Rubber. David spent his summers at Tobacco Lake, Manitoulin Island surrounded by friends and family. It was a sacred space to him where he loved to fish, swim and spend his evenings by the fire listening to music and never missing the opportunity to catch a Manitoulin sunset. David was known for his sense of humor and loyal friendship. He was a kind and caring husband, brother, dad and grandfather. A Celebrations of Life to be held Thursday, May 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the Nickel City Inn and again on Saturday, August 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Tobacco Lake, Manitoulin Island. Easily the funniest man I've ever met.He was not my uncle, but he definitely was my uncle. A life-long family bud, his spirit and energy will live on through the jokes and laughs of family/friends.He never missed a chance to offer me life advice/cottage tips. We must seek strength from each other as we all share a part of this loss, and simply keep doing what Dave would insist us to do; laugh and have a great time!
Deepest condolences
