Juha Ensio Makitalo

MAKITALO, Juha Ensio - Born May 31, 1953 in Espoo Finland, Juha peacefully passed May 11, 2019 just shy of his 66th birthday surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Matti and Sirkka Makitalo, He is survived by his loving wife Yvette, his children Cristina (Norm), Marian (James), Andre (Lisa) and Matti (Tracy) and his 9 grandchildren Isaac, Cloe, Mathieu, Caitlyn, Malaky, Ella, Maija, Zara and Koa. Juha is also survived by his 3 brothers Jarmo (Anne), Eero (Francine) and Markku (Shirley) and many nieces and nephews. Juha arrived in Canada with his parents and brothers in 1968. Leaving extended family in Finland behind. Juha was a respected businessman, friend to many, and will be sorely missed. An avid sportsman, Juha enjoyed hunting and fishing, storytelling and would give advice to anyone who would dare to listen. His family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of B3 of the NBRHC for their professionality and respect during this difficult time. His friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at the East Ferris Community Center on Saturday June 1st from 1 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Bay Rorab Shrine Club.13336560

Doug and I are so very sorry to hear about the death of Juha!! He will be sadly missed. He was one of a kind. Always so bubbly, and a great person to be around. A very kind sole!!

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Juha.I came to know Juha and his family shortly after their arrival in Canada and quickly grew to become close friends. We enjoyed many good times together and made many memories.We always remember his wit and sharp sense of humour. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. Our deepest sympathy. Juha, along with his family, was a supporter of the North Bay Walk for Muscular Dystrophy for many years. We will miss seeing him at our annual event at Lee Park. Condolences to his family and to his daughter Christina who serves on the North Bay MD Walk Committee.
