Geography and Math!
Posted by Sharon Bowes (Student) On Thursday, June 20, 2019
He was tough as nails in the classroom but my Grade 13 Physical and Cultural Geography classes with him led me to love the subject! When I became a weather presenter on MCTV, it was Mr. Gaffney who reached out to me with a little refresher course on warm and cold fronts! He helped to mentor me through that first year and I will be forever grateful. He was beyond a great educator! And in Grade 9, I had to do numbers so many times, he also improved my math skills! my sincerest condolences.
Condolences to family and sad to hear a great former teacher has passed

Mr. Gaffney, and Topo Gigio ;D, was my grade 9 Geography teacher. A tough subject for 1st period but he made it interesting. He may have been a strict disciplinarian but I still retain the knowledge gained from his class - a testament to both his teaching style and his personality.

He will be missed by many.

Most sincere condolences to Jen and the whole family and hope that they take solace in knowing he had a lasting impact on many of his students. He will forever live on in all our memories.

Mr Gaffney taught me Geography and was also my home room teacher. He was a great teacher who commanded respect but even a better person. I will miss bumping into him on occasion when he would come back to town and catch up on things. My condolences to all his family.
