RIX, Marion Irvine (Chambers) - Sept. 14, 1918 - Aug. 30, 2008 - Beloved mother of Lois, Sharon (Jerry) Smallwood, Bob (Jill), Barry (Sonja). Grandmother of twelve, great grandmother of six and great great grandmother of one. Predeceased by husband Edward H. (Ted) and eight siblings. Born in Victoria Harbour, Ontario, raised in Orillia, Ontario and farm wife and mother for 50 years in Warminster, Ontario. The last year and a half Marion resided in Kelowna. Marion was active at St. Luke's Anglican Church - ACW of Prices Corners, Ontario. Her children recall walking the farm lane after school to the aroma of homemade bread; their friends and families remember frozen brownies, lemon squares, corn roasts with extended family and her famous pies. Marion lived to welcome all to her table (they always paid by washing the dishes!). She was a life-long friend of Ann Teskey. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving friends and family who will miss her sense of humour. She sure loved her Rob! Marion was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. She had the best sense of humour and rarely let anyone or anything 'rattle' her. She was soft spoken, but when she spoke, everyone listened. To her family, your loss is shared by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
