DEMERS, Mary Ann - After a lengthy illness Mary Ann passed peacefully at Laurel Place Hospice, Surrey B.C. on October 20, 2010 at 62 years of age. Predeceased by her parents Ted and Marion Demers. Beloved mother of Rhonda Papke, Kyla and husband Trevor Kadlec, and Larry and wife Jennifer Papke. Loving grandmother of Nicholas, Gavin, Brodie, Tristan, Hayden and Avery. Dear sister of Harvey and wife Naomi Demers, and Brian and wife Maureen Demers. She will be missed by her Uncle Elwood Glabb and wife Jackie, Uncle Jim Demers and wife Ellen, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Following graduation from Chapleau High School Mary Ann studied nursing in Sudbury, practiced as an RNA, married Melvin Papke, raised three wonderful children as a working mom with most of her career spent working as an optician. After having endured years of serious health problems Mary Ann moved to a more moderate climate on the west coast. For 17 years her health deteriorated to the point she could no longer continue working for her final four years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or your local hospice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation was held. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday October 30th at 11:00 am in Saint Alexander Catholic church in Chelmsford, Ontario. 9589877
