BOYACHEK, Frank Edward - Peacefully with his family at his side, on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Portage District General Hospital, Frank Edward Boyachek of Rural Portage, beloved husband of Betty Boyachek passed away at the age of 82 years. Funeral service will be held in Trinity United Church on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 3:00 PM with the Reverend Julie Baker officiating. A private interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery. Frank was born on February 16, 1930, son of Nick & Lil Boyachek at Portage la Prairie. He received his education at the South Ridge School. He then began to farm with his father & brother, a career that frank enjoyed for his entire lifetime. On October 20, 1962 he married Betty Davis and together they lived on the farm where they raised their 2 children. Frank had many interests, including; hunting, dancing, curling, camping, and traveling. They made many trips south to the USA, and even traveled abroad to England, Australia and New Zealand. The highlight of Frank's traveling was the trip they took to Alaska. Predeceased by his parents, frank leave s to mourn his passing his wife Betty, one son Kenneth (Connie) of Rural Portage, granddaughters; Courtney & Camella, his daughter: Karen (Marty) of Goodlands, grandson Kyle. Also surviving is his brother Robert (Eileen) of Rural Portage, three sisters; Dorothy Thompson of Portage, Betty (Gus) Finnson of Gimili, Irene Brown of Ames, Iowa and many nieces, nephews and Cousins. Friends may call at the funeral home for a time of visitation on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 PM. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc., 24 - 9th St S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4 or the Maple Grove Cemetery, Site 42, Comp 6, RR#3, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, R1N 3A3.
