Anne Lorraine Hennessy

HENNESSY, Anne Lorraine - 1959-2014 Lorraine died at Hingham, Massachusetts on January 8, 2014, after a long struggle with breast cancer. She was born May 29, 1959, in Epping England. Her parents were Peter and Marion Hennessy. Lorraine and her two sisters, Mary Kathryn and Audrey Jane, grew up on a farm on the Kepler Road south of Sydenham, Ontario. They attended Sydenham High School during the 1970s where Lorraine excelled in music, badminton and academic subjects. She loved riding her horse and training lab puppies. After graduation, she attended Lakehead University for a year. She was married briefly to Michael Kosobookin 1983. The marriage produced a son David who spent much time with his grandparents while Lorraine studied data management at St. Lawrence College. After graduating with distinction, she worked as a systems analyst in the insurance business. She and David lived for a time in Ottawa where Lorraine enjoyed a career with Met Life. That interval took her into the millennium crisis of 2000 when she worked long hours to save the company from widely feared computer meltdown. Shortly after, she and David moved to Folsom, California. She was employed by Deloitte-Touche, the accounting firm, until early 2002. In the spring of 2002 she and David set out with all their belongings in a rented truck. After an epic journey to the east with stops at Brentwood Tennessee and her parents’ home at Elginburg, Ontario, she began a long job search. Finally, in July 2002 she accepted a position in Quincy, Massachusetts with Aviva and Sun Life. Her work with Sun Life brought her distinction in her field. She was entrusted to set up branch offices in Ireland and India to which countries she travelled in a supervisory role. At the pinnacle of her career as a data/financial manager, she became ill with breast cancer. The disease finally prevailed on January 8, 2014. Lorraine leaves her devoted son David, sisters Audrey Jane (husband Thom Case and their son Jesse Case), Mary Kathryn (husband Oliver Probert and children Elisabeth and Gareth) and her parents, Peter and Marion. There will be a memorial service at James Reid Funeral Home, John Counter Blvd. The date and details will be announced later. 12674045

Dear David, Peter, Marion and Family,

I am saddened and shocked to read that Lorraine has passed away. I have many happy memories of our time back when her and I were young neighbors’ in Kingston, when her son David was a pre-schooler, and their funny, sweet dog Dinah. We also had some fine adventures in the years ahead. I will always remember Lorraine’s lovely smile and great sense of humour. Please accept my sincere condolences and sympathy during this difficult time. Debra
