Carl Monk

MONK, Carl - Peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the age of 87. Loving husband for 60 years to Julie. Beloved father of Joanne, Jeannette, Jacqueline, Jerry and Jim. Proud grandfather and great-grandfather of too many to mention. Survived by his brother Elmer Monk of Winnipeg. Predeceased by his brothers Harold, John, Alvin and his sister Mary. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends. Carl was an avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, trapping, canoeing as well as gardening. He was a writer, journalist and a regular contributor to CBC Radio's Fresh Air and OutDoor Canada Magazine. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 905 428-8488. Cremation has taken place. If one so desires, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.12960218

Aunt Julie and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Carl was a special person. I often think of our early years (with Jean-Noel) when you always invited us and Char over on the weekends. Love and miss you all.

our deepest sympathies to Carl' s family. We wil miss his great sense of humour and We are still thinking of when I would stop by to get fresh cucumbers etc., Memquisit Lodge ' Frank and Char are also missing his variety of flowers, he used to bring to embellish the front of the yard .

Matante Julienne, all my cousins, please know that the family in Monetville is thinking of you all. Uncle Carl always had lots of interesting hunting, fishing and adventure stories. Growing up we did not get to see you guys lots, but uncle Carl left an impression on us, he will always be with us in spirit on our hunting trips! Xox On behalf of the Daoust family members!
