Francis (Chico) Rodier

RODIER, Francis (Chico) - December 17, 1955 - June 1, 2016 Francis (Chico) Rodier was born and raised in Arborfield, SK and attended school in Zenon Park. He then travelled with the Gates of Dawn for a year before going to work in Saskatoon at the potash mine. In 1975 after his father and brother passed away he returned home to the farm in Arborfield to work with his Mother and brothers on the family farm. He met Pat in the spring of 1976 and were married a year later in the spring of 1977. Their marriage resulted in three wonderful children, Shalamar, Peter, Anthony, and six grandchildren. Francis continued farming with his brother Bob until 2012. During that time, he was also very involved in the community as the ice keeper at the curling rink and was integral in developing Arborfield Grain Producers and spearheaded the start up of Thunder Rail. He spent 10 years running Arborfield Income Tax and was later President of the Arborfield DeHy plant before moving on to be CEO of CanPro. He was predeceased by his father Raymond and two brothers Peter and Louis; his parents-in-law Anne & Jim Gane and his brother-in-law Lionel Pellerin. He leaves to treasure in his memory his wife Pat Rodier; his children Shalamar (Wade) Nelson, Peter (Tara) Rodier and Anthony (Jen) Rodier; grandchildren Savannah, Payton, Mysha, Austin, Mathew and Katelyn; mother Anita Rodier; his siblings, Henri (Yvette) Rodier, Gerry (Bernie) Rodier, Diann Pellerin, Bob (Judy) Rodier, Jackie (Glen) Randall, Colette (Mike) Peoples, Rayanne Rodier as well as his many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at St. Lucy's Roman Catholic Church in Arborfield with Father Millan Sajonas officiating. Interment followed in St. Lucy's Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
