Allan Stanley Grassing

GRASSING, Allan Stanley - Allan Stanley Grassing passed away peacefully on August 13, 2016 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Al was born on November 25, 1940 at the family farm on Pas Trail, Saskatchewan. He was the eldest son of Paul and Violet Grassing. Al received his education at a small one-room country school, Reno Hill. At age fifteen he began his five year apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic. Al was a talented mechanic, challenged the final exam and passed. He became the youngest person to achieve the interprovincial endorsement in Canada. Al retired after forty-seven years working for International Truck Division of Navistar out of Chicago as a service representative, serving the needs of dealers and customers across North America. Allan was predeceased by his parents and wife, Olga Danchara. He is survived by his wife Judy Riley, sons; Jack (Shauna) and Mike and their children. He is also survived by his siblings; Ron (Jaylene), Glenn (Hope), Gerald (Sandra), Boyd (Debbie), Chris (Tracy), Gail (Kelly) Fraser, Brent, Kevin (Brenda) and nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation (cancercarefdn.mb.ca) or to a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held on August 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Nipawin, Saskatchewan.13087921
