Sharon Elaine Burton

BURTON, Sharon Elaine - Sharon Elaine Burton was born in Porcupine Plain, SK on January 31st, 1950 to parents Roy and Jessie Almen. When Sharon was 8 years old the family moved to Garrick, SK. She received her education at Garrick, White Fox and Choiceland schools. Graduating from Choiceland William Mason High School in 1968. After graduation Sharon decided on a nursing career and graduated from the SIAST nursing college in Saskatoon in 1972. She worked at Tisdale and Nipawin Hospitals for 22 years. On January 27, 1973 Sharon married the love of her life, Stan Burton. They lived most of their married life in White Fox. To this marriage they had two children, Jennifer in 1981 and Ryan in 1986. Sharon faced numerous health issues from birth, she fought all these issues with courage and tenacity. She never gave up and never complained. Sharon was a loving, caring person who loved to be with family and friends. Her hobbies were singing, listening to music and reading. She excelled at public speaking and won awards in her high school years. Sharon is predeceased by her parents Roy and Jessie Almen, father-in-law Virgil Burton, grandparents Ralph and Frances Almen, Arthur and Pearl McAuley, grandson Mackenzie and numerous aunts and uncles. She leaves to treasure her memory her husband of 43 years Stan, daughter Jennifer and son Ryan, grandchildren Chantelle, Kenneth, Inex, Haley, Logan, Paige and Josiah. Mother-in-law Louise Burton, her brothers Jerry (Mary Lou), Keith (Fern), Jeff (Liz), sisters Diane (Jim) Mazurkewich and Debbie (Spencer) McCleary. Sister-in-law Jeanette (Bob) Rudd, aunt and uncle Joe and Bernice Black, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service for the late Sharon Burton was held September 8, 2016 at 2:00pm at the White Fox Community Hall, White Fox, SK. I knew Sharon back when we were some where around 5. when the family lived in Nipawin beside my grandparents Laura and Bill Davis she had many struggles but seems to have battled them bravely.
