Jack Allan Ferguson

FERGUSON, Jack Allan - Jack Allan Ferguson, 63, of Nipawin, Saskatchewan, passed away on October 15, 2016 peacefully in his sleep. Jack was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan on December 27, 1952. Jack's reply to this was, "It could of been worse I suppose. I could have been born on December 25th or 31st. I have since consistently showed up late for church and early for parties." He graduated from Nipawin Comprehensive High School and continued on to the University of Saskatoon. Jack was married to Elizabeth McDermott on August 2, 1980. They had a wonderful son, Connor who was born March 31, 1987. Jack and Beth later divorced. Jack met Cheryl Hurd in 2002. Together they formed a loving and caring relationship filled with laughter, family and friends, travelling and of course dogs. Connor and later Kayla were an integral part of the bond. Grandson Archer Jack Ferguson became the light of Jack's life and Cheryl's pride and joy. Jack worked as a farmer in the Cherry Ridge district for more than 30 years. He then worked in Carrot River at Premier Horticulture Tech since May 27, 1999. At one time Jack was actively involved with the Kinsmen Club and the Cherry Ridge Curling Club. In more recent years, he enjoyed time on his computer blogging or listening to music, reading, travelling, going to the movies, and spending time at the cabin at Candle Lake. His cooking, hospitality and sense of humor were enjoyed by family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife Cheryl; his son, Connor and his spouse, Kayla and their five month old son, Archer Jack; his brother, Robert H. Ferguson and his spouse, Irene; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Mac) Ferguson and L. Robena Ferguson. A celebration of Jack's life was held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Coventry Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or North East S.P.C.A.
