Roy Ernest Bradley

BRADLEY, Roy Ernest - The family of the late Roy Ernest Bradley, wish to announce his passing, to be with our Lord and Saviour, on January 11, 2017. Roy was born in the Traynor and Salter area near Landis, SK on August 9, 1922. The first born son of George and Maude Bradley. He was raised on the farm and spent the largest part of his life on one, with the exception of the years he served with Saskatoon Light Infantry in WWII. In 1951 Roy married Hyacinth Jane Thompson and started a family on the farm near Kew Gardens, east of Lac Vert, SK. Mom and dad raised a family of nine there until in 1990, when all the kids were gone, they moved to Melfort, as mom was ill with cancer. Mom passed away in February of 1992. Dad continued to live in Melfort and on December 3, 1994, he married Leola (nee: Pladson) Bradley. Roy was predeceased by both his parents and all his siblings; his wife of 40 years, Hyacinth Jane Bradley; his son Lloyd Douglas Bradley and his daughter Catherine Jean Bradley. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 22 years, Leola (nee: Pladson) Bradley; his sons: Lyle (Lorraine) Bradley, Brian (Catherine) Bradley, Garth Bradley, David (Carol) Bradley; his daughters: Beverly (Larry) Papp, Shirley (Cecil) Munro and June (Brian) Buburuz. Dad was a loving father, grandfather and husband who will be sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. The Funeral Service for Roy was held from the Lac Vert Hall, Lac Vert, SK on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dave MacPherson officiating. The interment followed in the Pleasantdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Aaron Bradley, Paul Bradley, Chad Munro, Drew Munro, Josh Bradley, Callum Bradley, Regan Bradley and Spencer Bradley. Ushers were Mervin Nord and Ken Ingram, the memorial book was attended to by Irene Vipond and Linda Ingram, the eulogy was given by Dave Bradley and Beverly Papp, and the organist for the service was Welma Breiter. Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan.
