Margaret Joyce Bell

BELL, Margaret Joyce - (February 18, 1924 - March 6, 2017) It is with sadness we announce that our precious, gentle (Aunt) Joyce died peacefully, 16 days after her 93rd birthday. She is now free from all illness and pain and in the arms of our Lord. Joyce, lifelong resident of Foxboro / Belleville, was the only daughter of the late James Muir Bell and Margaret May Bell (nee Charlesworth). Predeceased by her only sibling, Robert Ralph Bell and Betty his wife, and life-long companion, the late Lyle Frederick Ostrom (Ret'd CNR). Although Joyce never married, she was never without family and is mourned by her nephew Keith (Anne), niece Linda Smith (Martin), and nephew James (Kim recently deceased). And by great nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Jean-Francois); Natalie (Olivier); Scott (Heather); Michael (Melissa); Colin (Laura); Katie and Stephanie. And by great-great nieces and nephews: Kristen; Patrick; Felix; Max; Kayla; Juno ; and Phoebe. Her working life was spent with Bell Canada where she began as a operator at its Pinnacle Street Office at the end of World War II and retired as an office manager in 1979. Joyce was also a long time and faithful member of the 'Bell Pioneers'. She shared her gift of music with many having learned to play the piano, by ear, at the young age of 5. Joyce was a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society driving patients to Kingston for their much needed treatments. Our Aunt will be remembered fondly, by all who knew her, for her beauty and style but even more so for her generous, kind and gentle spirit. A memorial service will be held at the Foxboro Chapel of the Good Shepherd (the former Presbyterian Church) on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm followed by interment at the Foxboro cemetery on Mud Cat Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Belleville St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 67 Victoria Ave., or to a Charity of your choice, would be most welcome.13154196

Sending sympathy and prayers to your family. I remember Joyce from when I was a child attending the Charlesworth picnics and get-togethers. Always beautiful, interesting, and a wonderful piano player, my dad, David Charlesworth, was proud to be her cousin. In his later life, he shared an interest with her in family history and genealogy, and often traded notes and information. My mother, Madeleine Wood Charlesworth, also wishes me to send her greetings and condolences. Hugs, Tim and Debbie Holt
