Lyle Lynn Adderley

ADDERLEY, Lyle Lynn - The family of Lyle Adderley is deeply saddened to share the news that he passed peacefully at RUH in Saskatoon on Friday, May 26, 2017. Lyle is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Carolyn; his sons Curtis (Marcia), Richard (Connie) and Colin (Marilyn); his grandchildren Tristan, Braylee, Sasha and Georgia; his sister Lois Drobot (Bill) and family; brother Dennis (Arlice) and family; and numerous other family members. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Wilma; and his sister Pat Fuller (David). Lyle was born on July 25, 1945 and spent his early life on the farm in Spalding, SK. He left home to obtain his education as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in Weyburn, SK where he met Carol, also an RPN. Lyle and Carol moved back to the family farm in Spalding where they farmed pigs, crops, and raised their three boys. The couple made the decision to move to Nipawin, SK in 1986 to put their diplomas to good use in the medical field, and Lyle worked as an RPN for the Health District of Nipawin for the remainder of his career. “Stress factor number one” had left the nest, but two and three also made the move to Nipawin. Lyle was a kind, gentle man with a fantastic sense of humour whose greatest pride and joy were his three sons and their families, and he loved them with all of his heart. He was very intelligent and was the “titan” of the family’s Trivial Pursuit challenges. Because of his lengthy early career as a pig farmer, he often likened the behaviours of people to those of pigs, and family and friends jokingly referred to him as a “sowcologist” or a “piggyatric” nurse. Lyle loved a good practical joke no matter if he was the one playing it, or it was played on him. He was an avid reader his entire life and his Kindle was his constant companion in his later years. He had an affinity for cigars, scotch, music, being in the wilderness, enjoying a wonderful meal, and a good conversation with family and friends. He leaves a giant hole in the hearts of all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his wife, children, their families, and all who knew him. The family is grieving at this time and will announce a memorial and celebration of life to family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to STARS Air Ambulance or the Nipawin Oasis Community Centre, Lyle’s favourite charities. Arrangements are in care of MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306) 978-5200 www.mourningglory.ca13181121

How could I ever forget the Adderley's moving to Our neck of the woods in Nipawin. Having you as neighbors and friends was a constant comfort. I grew up with Rich and Colin. Those boys had a huge impact on hockey and football in our little town... but Lyle, you had time for everyone. I recall chicken hunting on the old Harding road with you and Rich in the oil burning import car. Carol and boys, I am sorry to hear of your loss, your husband/father is one of the good ones that go to early.
