BIENVENUE, Elsie Lucy - September 15, 1924 - Vegreville, Alberta December 23, 2017 - Calgary, Alberta Elsie Bienvenue, aged 93, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2017, in Calgary, Alberta. Elsie was born in Vegreville, Alberta on September 15, 1924 to Rose and John Mitzak. She attended school in Vegreville with her brothers and sisters. She married Marcel Bienvenue on July 29, 1945 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. They moved and lived in several places throughout Alberta in support of Marcel’s oilfield career before settling in Calgary, Alberta. She was a loving wife to Marcel until his passing in 1979. She never remarried. Elsie is survived by her three children, Marcella Bienvenue, Colleen Bienvenue and John Bienvenue and his wife Sheena, her brother Marshall and her sister Lily; her four grand-children Michelle Dodd and her partner David Godlien, Leesa Henderson and her husband Martin, Marcella Bienvenue and her husband Tim Parham, and Emily Bienvenue and her husband Myles Gilchrist; her nine great-grandchildren Mackenzie G, Samuel, Mackenzie D, Mckinnon, Jacob, Sophia, Stella, Vivienne and Eleanor, and her dearest friends Lena and Jerry Mossing. She was a source of light and love to all who knew her and her wit and wisdom will be dearly missed. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens’s Park Cemetery.
