Keith Thomas Nicholson

NICHOLSON, Keith Thomas - Keith Thomas Nicholson, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 60 years of age. Born in Woodstock, Ontario and the son of the late Gerald Nicholson and late Rita Walsh. Beloved husband of Linda (Wachsmann) Nicholson for 37 years. Loving and proud father to Vanessa Woolley (Timothy) and Rosemary Nicholson. Proud Papa to Thomas Woolley who carries on his middle name. Keith truly loved his being a grandfather and would enjoy taking Thomas for rides on the tractor backhoe, becoming known to Thomas as the Papa who “dig dig digs”. Dear brother to Ken (Rhona), Doug (Bev), Kate (John), David (Theresa) and the late Allan. Cherished godson and stepson to Margaret Bettridge (John). As well, beloved by many nieces and nephews; Ryan, Kyle, Cassie, Kelsey, Kirstie, Reese, and Jack. Keith was an avid golfer and enjoyed many great trips to Myrtle Beach with his Crew and was a member of the Mitchell Golf Course for 20 years. Keith carried on a 100 year legacy of the Robert Nicholson Construction Company, which completed many important projects for numerous towns and cities, including Stratford. Keith was devoted to this busy career in Municipal Drainage and shared this legacy with his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Keith was a spirited and tenacious person who fought pancreatic cancer with all that he had. Throughout his battle with cancer, Keith remained strong and determined while still maintaining his sense of humour. Family and friends may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 50 Well St., Stratford. Private family interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery. Everyone is invited to a reception in Keith’s honour at the Stratford Country Club, 53 Romeo St., N., Stratford following the Mass. I had the pleasure of working with Keith on numerous City projects and a more honest, respected man could not be found. My condolences to Linda, Ron and the whole Nicholson family.
