Dr. Marcelo Kremenchutzky

KREMENCHUTZKY, Dr. Marcelo - Peacefully, and with his loving wife, Danine, by his side, Dr. Marcelo Kremenchutzky passed away at University Hospital on Monday, October 1st, 2018. Marcelo was the beloved husband of Danine and loving father to Emma and Noah. Dear son of Sara Buchhalter and loving brother to Eduardo (Laura), Liliana (Miguel) and Leonardo (and his late wife Sandra), and brother-in-law to Kirk. Loving son-in-law to Robert and Monica Pike. Also loved by his dear friend, Marcela Cohen; his nieces and nephews: Kaley, Natalia, Alan, Lucas, Agustina, Julian; and his extended family. Dr. Kremenchutzky was a world- renowned expert in multiple sclerosis (MS) and was involved in the care of thousands of patients and contributed important research in the field. He was also the vice-chair of the Research Ethics Board at Western. Above everything, and most dear to Marcelo, were his family and close friends. His children were, by far, his proudest accomplishments. After being diagnosed with lung cancer, he became a passionate advocate to end the stigma for non-smoking lung cancer patients, and to advocate for access to better treatment and early diagnosis. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL , 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, October 13th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in Dr. Kremenchutzky’s memory are asked to consider Lung Cancer Canada. The family wishes to extend a special ‘thank you’ to Dr. Mark Vincent, the London Regional Cancer Program and the Stroke Unit at University Hospital. I was so saddened to hear the news that Dr. Kremenchutzski passed away. His gentleness and positive attitude got me through my early stages after my MS diagnosis. Thanks to his encouragement to join an MS study, I am able to live life to the fullest. I owe this to him, and will never forget him.
Important person in my life

He was my doctor for many years and saved my life when I got PML. When I was first diagnosed with MS, he told me he would make sure I walked down the aisle when I got married. He was there through all my tears and continuously encouraged me through my recent battle with PML. I had no idea he had terminal cancer during that time! I know he was proud of his family and obviously loved them a great deal. He was an intelligent man with a big heart. He will be missed greatly, but never forgotten.
Deepest sympathy
