Carl Stephen Burke

BURKE, Carl Stephen - The man, the myth, the legend. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Carl S. Burke would like to announce his passing on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Cornwall Hospice with his loving family by his side, after a courageous battle with bone cancer at the age of 77. He was an avid car enthusiast who worked as a forest technician for Domtar Cornwall. Later in life, he became an accountant and ran a successful personal business. He loved racing cars at Shannonville, good returns on his investments, eating half a piece of toast, listening to Rock & Roll, fishing on his land in Petitcodiac, NB, line dancing, his beautiful wife & red wine. Not necessarily in that order. He disliked intolerance and banks. Not necessarily in that order either. Carl leaves behind his loving and amazing wife of 36 years, Nicole (Vincent) Burke of Cornwall, ON. Dear father to Stephen (Valerie Walker), Darrin (Pierre Lavigne), Jody and Melyssa (David Roy). Proud Papa to Joseph, Jessika, Calvin, Kyle, Titus and Trinity & Emma (Roy). Cherished brother to Paul (Marilyn) of Moncton, NB, David (Donna) of Campbellford, ON, Elizabeth (Charles) of Halifax, NS and Heather Burke of Halifax, NS. Predeceased by his parents Gerald Alexander Burke and Janet Frances (Bell) Burke of Halifax, NS. To honour Carl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Cornwall Golf and Country Club for friends and family on Saturday, January 19th from 7pm until 10pm - first round is on him. A special thanks to the dedicated and caring staff of Cornwall Hospice. Memorial donations to Cornwall Hospice would be appreciated by the family.13320755
