May Doherty

DOHERTY, May 1930 ~ 2019 It is with sadness and heavy hearts that our wonderful friend, May, passed away on Thursday, February 7. May had been ill for several months but kept believing she would be back to herself soon. May was never one to sit still and her decorating career was her passion. She operated a store call May's Decorating in Goderich, St. Mary's and for a time in Stratford. She bought beautiful things for her store and enjoyed meeting people when they came into the store. She made many, many friends along the way. She loved to entertain at home and we know it brought her much joy to have her friends all together. As her close friends we loved her and enjoyed being with her and all of us have different stories we could tell. May was cremated and interned shortly after her death and she rests in peace with her husband Mal in Stratford Cemetery. May, you may be gone but will never, ever be forgotten. From all your Stratford and area friends.13328515

I knew May from her decorating store in my hometown Goderich and reconnected with her in Stratford. She was such a lovely woman with beautiful taste and amazing decorating talent.
Such a sweet person...

I met May in Goderich when her store was next to our restaurant. I met up with her again when we moved back here. She would come out to the furniture store where I used to work here in Stratford. She loved home décor so much and would always give me a big hug when she came in. She intended to come visit me in my own store downtown, but sadly never made it. I will miss her hugs.
You will be missed

May alwys showed an upbeat mood no matter what her struggles she may have been having in her life. After running into May in a store or anywhere she always left you feeling happy about things. May will be missed by anyone that came into contact with her. I was in her wonderful store in St. Mary’s which was lovely just like her.
