Terrence Mackinnon

MacKINNON, Terrence - September 1, 1950 - July 3, 2019 Celebration of Life - August 24, 2019 Terrence Eric MacKinnon passed away peacefully, July 3, 2019 in Lanigan, Saskatchewan, with his family by his side, following a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy (nee Wheler); children: Lance (Heather) MacKinnon, Cassandra (Chad) Klassen, Corey (Melissa) MacKinnon and Katelyn (Mike) Botten; grandchildren: Astrid, Kylee, Adam, Graeme, Alex, Brantley, Terek, Connor, and Lakelyn; sisters: Donna (John) Ferrari, Marcie (Ken) Latham, and Liz (Wayne) Gennings; brother-in-law, Milt (Barb) Wheler; sister-in-law Marlene (Don) Hiscock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Margaret MacKinnon. Terry was born in Kirkland Lake, ON on September 1st, 1950, and he was raised in Gold Centre, (Timmins). Graduating from Haileybury School of Mines in 1973, Terry later enjoyed a successful 40 year mining career and was a respected mine safety engineer. Most of his adult life was spent in Red Lake, Ontario where he loved being in the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and spending as much time at the family cabin as he could. He spent his free time with his wife and kids, whether helping with cubs or scouts, taking them fishing, hunting, camping, vacation excursions in the RV, or endless hours outdoors. After the kids had grown, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, going to Australia, Europe, and many areas in North America, while living in Dolores, Colorado and Lanigan, Saskatchewan. He was an amazing man and will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives he touched during his life’s journey. A Celebration of Life for Terrence will take place in Red Lake, Ontario, Saturday, August 24, 2019. What a fight

I remember when Terry first got ill, from the Jansen days. He fought the battle of a champion. I would expect no less from a Red Lake fella. Rest in peace Terry. You were a natural born leader.... Cheers
