René PLOUFFE

PLOUFFE, René - The family announces with sorrow, his death in Sudbury, Monday, September 27, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Son of the late Jean and of the late Cécile (née Gervais) Plouffe. Husband of the late Rita Plouffe (née Lavergne). Beloved father of Denis (Deborah) and Marc both of Chelmsford, Lise Guy (Patrick) of Sudbury and Pierre (Collette) of Gogama. Dear brother of Lucienne McGee (late Gerry) and Claude (Aline) both of Timmins, Albert (May) of Chatham, Marie Labine (Dennis ) of Pembroke, Pauline Racicot (Horace) of Oxnard, California, USA, Marcel (Moira) of Port Alberni, B.C. and Claudette Duval (Normand) of Campbell River, B.C. Predeceased by his sister Jeanne Plouffe and his brothers Lucien (late Aline), Laurier (Edna of London) and Thérèse Shields (late Jack). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Samuel, Dakota, Stéphanie, Chantal, Daniel, Paul and Michelle. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Pioneer Manor and Sudbury Regional Hospital for the kind and compassionate care. René retired from Inco after 40 years of service as an electrical foreman. He also worked for the Ministry of Labour for over 5 years. René was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 553, Chelmsford and a World War II Veteran. On se souviendra de René ayant été un conseiller pour les écoles catholiques de Sudbury pour au delà de 25 ans. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691, RR 15, Chelmsford, Wednesday evening from 7-9:30 p.m. and Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St-Joseph Church, Chelmsford. Donations (by cheque only) to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Sudbury Regional Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. 9505023

I fondly remember all the times that I would meet Mr. Plouffe around town and we would discuss many things especially education, an interest he maintained long after he was no longer a trustee. Please accept my sympathies

Love you always Grandpa your the best. I will always cherish the memories we had together. Whenever I need guidance I know that you'll be by my side. You never gave up when the going got rough and I plan to do the same by pushing foward in life.

We were saddened to hear of Mr. Plouffe's passing. He was such a nice man and the world was a much better place with him in it. Our condolences to his family.

Working at Loeb in Chemmy for almost 10 years, it was always a pleasure when Mr. Plouffe came in the store. A great man indeed
