Ann (nee Wegzanowski) Beange

BEANGE, Ann (nee Wegzanowski) - May 24, 1925 - December 29, 2013 - Died peacefully with her sons at her side in Sudbury on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at the age of 88. A native of Arran, Saskatchewan, Ann was born to Josef Wegzanowski (d. 1948) and Maria Ruski (d. 1970). She was the youngest of six children. Sister to Lena Van Doorn (d. 2005), Walter (d. 1983) Helen (d. 1935), Vera Andronyk (d. 1995), and Pat Dzikowski (living in Richan, Ont.). Throughout her life, Ann was passionate about making her dreams happen. As a single young woman in the 1940s, she travelled and worked throughout western Canada. She even worked underground in the mines at Flin Flon for a few years during the Second World War. Her adventures finally took her to Sudbury in 1950, where she met and married (1952) the one true love of her life, the late John Edward Beange (d. 1976). For over 60 years, they made their family home on Rosemarie Avenue. Ann became the perfect mother to Keith (Louise Alepin) and Edwin (Pamela Whittall). She taught them to dream, and to spend time everyday appreciating life's wonderful gifts. Ann was a very proud and devoted grandmother to Madeleine, William & Chloe Beange. Ann was a grand lady, and died as she lived her life, with dignity and her family at her side. Ann's family is extremely grateful to Dr. Killian De Blacam, and all the staff at Westmount Retirement Home for providing Ann with such loving care over the last few months. A funeral service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, on Auger Ave. in Sudbury, on Thursday, January 9th at 3:00 p.m. At 5 pm, a Celebration of Life buffet gathering will be held at the Curious Thyme's Bistro, at Science North, 100 Ramsey Lake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meals on Wheels (Sudbury) at https://www.canadahelps.org/dn/9899. Meals On Wheels (Sudbury) is a non-profit charitable organization committed to quality community based programming which enhances and promotes independence.12668116
