Muriel Pauline Dressler

DRESSLER, Muriel Pauline - Eldest child of Carl and Esther Lindbergh, was born May 27, 1932 in the Brockington district of Saskatchewan. She passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years on September 26th at Pineview Lodge in Nipawin. She was baptized in Melfort and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Snowden in 1955. Pauline grew up in the Choiceland area, attending schools at Blue Fox and Elkridge. She worked as a homemaker, then as a cook at Smeaton Hospital and finally at Kirkby Bakery in Nipawin. At this time she met her future husband. She married Richard Dressler on July 10th, 1952 and they settled in the Snowden district. They lived there until retirement and moved to Nipawin in 1990. During their 53 year marriage they raised five children. They were also foster parents for over 20 years. At the church she held many positions in the Sunday School and Ladies Aid at St. Paul's in Snowden, St. Mark's in Choiceland and Zion Lutheran in Nipawin. After Richard's death in 2005 Pauline moved to Pioneer House in Nipawin. When her health began to fail she moved to North Haven in Smeaton and finally to Pineview Lodge. Family was a big part of her life. She loved to get together with her siblings, whether it was a quick visit or a large family supper. Later in life she looked forward to her children and grandchildren visiting. Pauline loved gardening, her greatest joy was caring for her flowers. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2005, infant son Larry in 1965, her parents and numerous in-laws. She is survived by daughter Marleen (Les) White and children Clinton (April), Carla (Dallas) Rusnak and Warren (Karyn Cunningham); son Mervin (LeeAnn) Dressler and children Dan (Erin) and Jena (Jesse) Tufts; daughter Doris (Terry) Akister and children Sarah (Tony Meredith) and Michelle (Jordan) Douglas; daughter Gladys (Barry) Whitrow and children David, Jamie-Lynn (Trevor) Edwards, and Jonathan; son Robert (Dawn) and children Alyson and Brad. Also 11 great grandchildren, sisters Geraldine Adelman, Eileen Albinet, Beatrice Wouters, Dianne Mason, Doreen Neuls and brothers Lorne Lindbergh, Fenton Lindbergh and Lyle Lindbergh, also brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral was held October 1, 2016 at 11:00am at the Snowden Community Hall.
