SERVISS, George Steven - April 27, 1941 - January 16, 2017 With deep sadness we announce that George Serviss passed away after a battle with cancer. He is the 3rd son of Melfort/Ethelton area pioneers Sam and Marion Serviss, and brother to Rob (deceased) Jim (Yvonne) and Ken (Karen) Serviss. George married Margaret Bamford in 1965 and they then moved to the Vancouver area, where they have lived for the past 51 years. Next to his love for his family, Georgeís greatest life passion was for flying. He enjoyed a 36 year career with C.P. Airlines, retiring on the 747. He was very active in the Langley Aero Club & the Langley Museum of Flight. He built 2 aircraft (Vanís RVís), and enjoyed formation flying with other homebuilder friends. He was an active member of Langley Presbyterian Church, volunteered with the RCMP, and sang with the First Capital Chorus. He is survived by his loving wife Marg, son Steven (Connie), daughters Debbie (Terry Radtke) and Tracey (Garett Bartos) along with 9 grandchildren, Mitchell McArthur (Chanelle Gunderson) Riley, Krysta & Kayla Serviss, Chelsea (Mike Shea) Brady & Ethan Radtke, Taliah & Devin Bartos, great- grandson Kieran Shea, and brothers Jim and Ken. There is no way to express what a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, cousin and friend he was. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. ďTo fly west, my friend, is a flight we all must take for a final check.Ē A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 24 at 1:00 P.M. at Southridge Fellowship Baptist Church, 22756 - 48 Ave., Langley, B.C. All welcome.
