McLEAN, Glen - Of Hanover passed away at the Hanover and District Hospital on December 25, 2018, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Florence (2017). Loving father of Fred McLean (Kate) of London, Mark McLean of Kitchener, Charles McLean (Ellen) of Durham and Margaret McLean of Elmwood. Glen will be sadly missed by Florence's children Patricia Bolton Marion (Peter) of Port Lambton, Bill Bolton of Hanover and Lisa Bolton (Rick) of Hanover. Dear grandpa of Stephan, Jason, Jessica, Linley, Desiree, Kasey, Jason and Chantal and great-grandpa of Mikaela, Marissa, Leeda and Sylvie. Predeceased by his granddaughter Tawnya Lauda, brother Wilmer McLean and his wife Jessie and son-in-law John Lauda. Every life has a story. Glenís journey through life can best be described as follows. As a young boy he lost his Mother at age 6. He grew up on an isolated country farm, minding the family beef herd with his older brother Wilmer and his father, who also worked in a factory in Owen Sound. In his mid teens he set out on his own and established himself in a sales career. He married into an extended family in New Hamburg where he raised his family. They lived briefly in Ottawa before he Ďretiredí to the Hanover area, where he worked at his own pace, independently for the rest of his life. He married the love of his life Florence and they spent over 40 years together, including winters in Florida. Glen was a very independent individual, who marched to his own drum and his sharp mind continued until his passing. He never complained about anything, including the progressive aphasia that took away his speech, in his latter years. As a father you always knew where he stood and he was Ďa giverí his entire life. A memorial service was held at Grace United Church, Hanover on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. Visitation with the family was from 1 p.m. until time of service. Memorial donations to Grace United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at HREF="">
