PIKE, Leslie Charles - 1927 - 2019 We sadly announce the passing of Les Pike, at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday January 12, 2019 at the age of 91, with his family by his side. He was the son of William and Mabel Pike (London, England), (deceased), younger brother of Ron (deceased), Bert (deceased) and Olive. Beloved husband of Eileen and loving father of Laurence, Stuart (Karon), Carol (Doug), Russell, Robert (Tara). Grandfather to Jonathan (Laura), Jessica, Christopher, Jeremy (Rachael), Dana, Iain, Loagan, Jade, Sam and Regan. Great grandfather to Jordan, Rachel and Abigail. Les is fondly remembered by his sister Olive and his sister-in-law, Cynthia and his extended family in England, Australia and Canada. He will be sadly missed by Audrey, Miriam, and David (Sue) in St. Catharines, Ontario. Les became a skilled musician with the Salvation Army in England. After service in the Royal Navy he emigrated to Canada with Eileen and Laurence in 1954. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces, performing as their principal euphonium soloist across Canada and Europe. After retiring from the military, he provided title searching services in the Kingston area before acting as a court clerk. Les volunteered at the Kingston General Hospital at the front desk for many years. Les will always be remembered by his family and friends as a charismatic, awesome guy! Our family wishes to thank the staff of Davies 3 Cardiology, and all medical professionals who provided support to Les over the years, for your wonderful, compassionate care. It is greatly appreciated. A celebration of life will take place in the spring. For those wishing, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation – Volunteer Auxiliary. Les was a long time friend of my fathers playing with him for the Kinsman Club shows for years. He was a very fine gentleman.
