LAPORTE, Audrey Irene - Born in Summerside, PEI, on December 10, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert Preston and Alma Ruth (nee Weeks) Milligan, Audrey, a resident of Clarksburg since 1971, passed away in Meaford on Friday May 10, 2019 at the age of 85. She will be remembered as the much loved mother and “Mom” of Brian Laporte and his wife Laurie of Meaford, Michelle and her husband David Rose of Wasaga Beach, and Sean Laporte and his wife Cherie of Owen Sound and was predeceased by their father Russell Laporte in 2005. She will be recalled as the devoted Grandma of Will Laporte and his wife Jenn of Burlington, Carson Laporte and his wife Kerri and children Adalyn and Maverick of Meaford, Alicia Rose and her partner David of Toronto, Jeremy Rose and Christopher Rose of Wasaga Beach, and Courtney, Aislinn and Liam Laporte all of Owen Sound. Audrey was a dear sister to Harland Robert “Bob” Milligan and his wife Sheila of Summerside and was predeceased by a brother Leighton Milligan. Audrey will be recalled as a very social person being an active member of the Beaver Valley community serving as a willing member of the local Legion, the Marsh Street Centre and Thornbury First Baptist Church. She loved to go fishing and enjoyed her antiques and for many years she was known as the ‘Avon Lady’ where she met many new friends and earned several awards and rewards as a member of the ‘President’s Club’ with the company. Cremation has taken place and a memorial funeral service celebrating Audrey’s life will be conducted at the Marsh Street Centre, 187 Marsh St., Clarksburg on Thursday May 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. where family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. and during a time of fellowship and refreshment following the service. RCL Br 281 will conduct a memorial service immediately prior to the memorial celebration at the Centre. A private family service of inurnment and committal will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery. If so desired and as your expression of sympathy, donations to the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation – Oncology, would be appreciated and may be made through the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME , 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. To Brian, Michelle,and Sean, My deepest sympathy to you and your families at this sad time. I remember Aunt Audrey and Uncle Russ visiting our family in Midland many years ago. Audrey always had a smile on her face and a good sense of humour. I will keep your family in my thoughts.
