Di BARTOLOMEO, Maria “Madera“ (Esposito) - It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of our loving mother, Maria, Thursday January 19, 2012 at Northland Pointe in her 91st year, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe. Loving mother to Fior (Loretta), Vince (Cathy), Tony (Linda) and Frank (Susan). Adored Nonna to Lisa (Scott), Jody, Lori (Sheldon), Michael (Angela), Andrea (Attila), Steven (Susie), Mark (Laura), and Ann-Marie. Bisnonna to Tiffany & Holly Wsolek, Dante, Domenic, and Mia Di Bartolomeo. Also survived by one sister in- law Annunziata Di Bartolmeo of Italy. Maria will be fondly remembered and missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada as well as Italy. Predeceased by her parents Cesare & Assunta Esposito, and by her in- laws Fiorangelo & Vincenza Di Bartolmeo, brothers and sisters in-law Ernesto (Mela), Mario (Nicolina), Romolo (Nellie), and Remo (Erminia). Maria was born in Torre dei Passeri, Pescara, Italy November 19, 1921 and emigrated to Port Colborne in 1953. She was an unselfish, giving, caring mother, grandmother and friend to many. She worked tirelessly to do for others, Mom will be remembered for her unbelievable cooking skills, especially her spaghetti sauce and espresso coffee. She lived for her family, pleasing others and her strong faith in God. Maria's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Bill Derousie officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Port Colborne. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. Online condolences available at
