MONTGOMERY, Bruce - Bruce Stanley Montgomery, currently of Kitchener, Ontario and formerly of Stratford, Ontario, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on August 13, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. He was predeceased by his parents James Frederick Montgomey (1999) and Doris Jean Montgomery (1997), also of Stratford, Ontario. Born in Stratford on January 10, 1963, Bruce attended Stratford Northwestern Secondary School. Upon graduation, he attended and graduated DeVry Institute of Technology, Toronto. Bruce worked in the IT Department at F.A.G. bearings (Schaeffler), in Stratford, for over 20 years. At his time of passing, Bruce was employed as an IT Manager at Braun's is BYCYCLES, Kitchener, where he has worked for the past five years. Bruce was a Federally licensed Amateur Radio Operator (V3YBM) and was a member of the Festival City Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed cycling and photography. Bruce is survived by several aunts and one uncle along with numerous cousins in Ontario and the USA and numerous friends that he met through the Amateur Radio Hobby. A special thank you to Waterloo Regional Police Service, Fire, EMS, Grand River Transit, St. Mary's Hospital Emergency and IU departments and to the good Samaritans who assisted in Bruce's time of need. A memorial service will be held for Bruce Montgomery in the chapel at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, on August 28, 2013, at 1 p.m. The church is located at 202 Erie St., Stratford.
