BOLEN, Wayne - Please join us to celebrate the life of Wayne Bolen (1944-2014) who passed away peacefully on May 25th 2014 at the NBRHC. Son of the late William and Monica Bolen. Loving husband of Nancy (Hawton). Dear father of Pam (Wayne), Brent (Stacy), Lori (Trevor) and Brad. Papa will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Jessica (Scott), Alyssa, Justin (Alysha), Mitchell, Juliet, Ryder, Ryan, Brady and by his great-granddaughter Peyton. Survived by his sisters Roberta, Joan and Maureen. Predeceased by brothers Terry and Allan, his sister Pat and brother-in-law Mike Harnett. Wayne started his career as a carpenter apprentice in Dundalk where he met and married Nancy 47 years ago. After a serious injury he retrained in Orangeville as a helicopter instructor at Caledon Helicopters in 1971. He then moved his family to North Bay in 1972 to instruct the helicopter flight program at Canadore College and worked his summers fighting forest fires with the MNR. After instructing at Canadore for 15+ years he took a job with Hussein Aviation in Timmins. Wayne then went on to work for National Helicopters, Superior Helicopters, Great Slave Helicopters and Canadian Helicopters. He was fortunate to travel the world. "In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you fade away, our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay, but when we saw you sleeping, so peacefully free from pain, we could not wish you back to suffer that again." Memorial to be held on Sunday, June 1st from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge, 325 Elks Lane, North Bay (off of Trout Lake Rd.).
