CHISHOLM, Rocky - July 28, 1951 - April 20, 2016 - Rocky Chisholm was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba on July 28, 1951. The family lived at Rivers End on the Torch River when he was young. They moved around until Rocky was ten, eventually settling in Carrot River. Rocky stayed there until he completed school. Rocky worked for his brother- in- law Delles Anderson off and on installing cable for SaskTel. Rocky took a variety of work until he started working for KACR constructing the Francois-Findley Hydro Electric Dam in 1983. When the project was completed in 1985, Rocky was hired by Cameco where he worked at Key Lake and Mc Arthur River during his 30 years of service. Rocky married Hilda Salisbury on January 22, 1983. Some of the best times they had together were alone on a fishing boat. They spent hours on the water and fished many tournaments together. Rocky was the president of his local Iron Steel Workers Union. He took this responsibility with great pride. He spent many days on his week out of camp conducting union business. Most recently, Rocky took a high interest in local politics. He was never one to stand idly by when he felt things needed to be improved. Rocky was looking forward to retirement this summer. He was drafting travel plans to the east coast and other destinations when he became ill. Rocky was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Lawrence Chisholm; wife Hilda; sisters Sharon Campbell, Louise Collison and Val Hedman; brother Ron Chisholm; brothers-in-law Gary Brisbin (Jeanne), Delles Anderson (Sharon), Hugh Campbell (Sharon); and nephew Randy Brisbin. Rocky will be sorely missed by his son Scott (Jessica) McLeod; daughter Kimberly (Oliver) McLeod; grandchildren Grady, Holly, Cameron, Austin, Tomasa and Kailyana as well as other family members and numerous friends. A memorial service was held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Nipawin Alliance Church with Pastor Joel Diamond officiating. Interment followed in Mabel Hill Cemetery.
