SCHREINER, Margaret Erna - Margaret Erna Krone was born on September 16th, 1926 in Poland. Two years later, along with her parents Bernhard and Margaretha and 4 siblings, they boarded the Mountain and sailed to Canada. Upon arriving in Halifax, the Krones headed west to Saskatchewan, finding themselves settling in the Little Bridge District west of Pontrilas. Margaret received her schooling at the Little Bridge School before completing her grade 12 at Nipawin High School. Margaret met Adam Schreiner and they were married on February 16th, 1945 in Nipawin. Margaret and Adam raised their family and farmed on Adam's parents, Dave and Eva Schreiner's original homestead. They were blessed with 5 boys Wayne, Robert, Brian, Kerry and Bruce. Margaret settled into her busy farm life role of raising children, doing chores, gardening, canning and being a cook for Adam and his other farming brothers. As time went on, family operations changed and as the boys left the home, Margaret found herself with more free time so she decided to take up work off the farm. She eventually worked at an Eiderdown Coat Factory in Zenon Park, as well as a Fuller Brush representative and as a librarian at Ridgedale School. The last work Margaret did was providing light housekeeping for elderly individuals in the area. Visiting with neighbours, picking blueberries, curling at Ridgedale and Ratner, square dancing at Spooner Hall and playing scrabble with friends were all things Margaret enjoyed. Margaret also could be spotted at bingo’s in Gronlid and Ridgedale enjoying time with her close neighbour friends. Margaret also enjoyed doing liquid embroidery, knitting and later in life doing puzzles. Margaret is predeceased by her husband Adam, son Robert and numerous brothers and sisters. Margaret is survived by her sons Wayne and his children Stacy (Daniel), Shawn, Dawn (Steve); daughter-in-law Sharon and her daughter Kim (Brent); Brian and his son Cole (Kailey); Kerry (Lori) and their daughters Megan (Troy), Amber (Justin) and Ciera, Bruce (Shelley) Cole and Hannah as well as several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Eric (Shirley) and sister Trudy, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. A memorial service for the late Margaret Schreiner was held Friday, August 5th, 2016 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Nipawin, SK at 2:00PM.
